Access Statement
Introduction
We aim to cater for the needs of our visitors to New Farm Restaurant with Rooms. The following statement is a summary of our provision. If you have any specific questions please feel free to call us and we will be delighted to help – there are no ground floor bedrooms.
Pre-Arrival
There is a bus stop 500 metres from our front door with local services run by SouthWest Coaches, Berry's Coaches also stop here with a service coming direct from Hammersmith, London. We are happy to arrange collection from the bus stop.
The nearest train station is Crewkerne which is approximately 15 minutes by car
The nearest local taxi service operates out of South Petherton 1.5 miles away, other local taxis are available, please see below.
Menus can be provided in large print by prior arrangement.
Arrival & Car Parking Facilities
On arrival to the property, the entrance to the car park is situated to the right of the building.
The surface is flat from the road but with a slope leading from the car park to the main entrance of the restaurant which leads into the Restaurant/reception area.
The main entrance is also accessible via the pavement or from the road and guests can be dropped off here.
There are no marked parking bays but room for 11 cars.
We are more than happy to assist our guests with their luggage.
The village of South Petherton is 20 minutes walk along roads and pavements from the restaurant.
Main Entrance & Reception
There are no steps on entering the restaurant, by the road or via the car park.
The front door is always open during normal restaurant hours, please come on in, the door is wide enough to accommodate wheelchairs.
The entrance opens out to a downstairs eating area and reception area with log fire and seating around. A small dispense bar serves as reception. There is a door to the right leading to the 3 bedrooms which are all upstairs
There is a staircase to the left of the reception desk which leads to a first floor eating area.
Neither floor is carpeted.
Public Areas - WC
There are 3 public W.C.'s available on the ground floor. The largest one can facilitate wheelchair access but has no frame, grab rail or handicap.
Restaurant
The restaurant is on 2 floors
Breakfast is served in the Restaurant on the ground floor.
Furniture can be moved on request.
We play background music in the Restaurant & Lounge during lunch and dinner, radio at breakfast.
In the lounge there are seats of various heights.
Shop
Not available on the premises but the village of South Petherton has a Co-op convenience store, Pharmacy, Greengrocers, Butchers amongst others.
Bedrooms
All bedrooms have Flat screen Television and Freeview.
There are two double bedroom both have ensuite shower facilities and one has a spa bath incorporated
Additional Information
Dogs are welcome in our rooms with a £10.00 surcharge, but are not allowed on beds or to be left alone in the room.
Due to the age and structure of the building, mobile phone reception can be poor in some areas of the hotel.
Broadband wifi is available in the reception and restaurant area.
No Smoking throughout.
Special dietary requirements can be catered for, please advise on booking.
